The first big event in the Val d’Isere winter calendar this year was the Criterium de la Premiere Neige. The world’s top skiers gathered on the Face to start the competitive ski season. We went to watch the skiers only to be greeted with one of the best starts to the season Val had seen in several years, so after a morning watching the downhillers to do their thing we squeezed in a quick slide around the Espace Killy and we were not disappointed. Parks open in both Val and Tignes and plenty of snow the season in the Espace Killy is off to a great start! Little did we know there was more to come.
