Val d'Isere Travel & Transport > Bus & Coach
Coaches & Buses to resort
|
There are many options in getting from the airport to resort depending on your budget and whether you would like to travel by Rail, Taxi or on a Airport Transfer. There also local public or private bus companies that run between the resort and the airport.
Collectively called ‘Altibus’, it was actually brought about by the collection of 14 transport companies across the various ski stations in the Northern and Southern Alps. Altibus now peform the central reservations function and are responsible for managing many of the local bus companies in the Savoie region such as Autocars Martin, Alpski-bus and Transavoie. It can be slightly confusing as many of the local branded bus companies are operated under the Altibus umbrella so although you may book your ticket through a local coach operator, it will ultimately be Altibus who are responsible for providing the service. Through it’s network of transport operators, these local companies operate regular time-tabled routes between the ski resorts and Geneva, Lyon Saint-Exupéry and Chambéry airports.
Tickets for your airport journey can be purchased at the local bus station or alternatively online at www.altibus.com. If you are travelling to Lyon airport, Satobus are the local company who operate on this route. Satobus are still part of the Altibus umbrella.
A number of the companies listed below are also available for private hire and local excursions.
