Espace Killy Leisurely Runs
| Leisurely Runs in the Espace Killy |
|
Val d'Isere and Tignes have plenty of wide and gentle slopes ideal for those looking for leisurely and relaxed skiing. The modern and efficient lift system makes it easy to access the 22 green runs and 61 blue runs in the Espace Killy. |
| Leisurely Runs in Bellevarde |
There is plenty of variation for all levels of skiers at Bellevarde and there are different ways up the mountain depending on how confident you are.
For leisurely skiers, there is a slightly steep, busy section to the piste at the top of the Funival and Olympique in the Bellevarde area. To avoid having to ski this, take the Train Rouge to La Daille and here, take the La Daille bubble, then the Mont Blanc chairlift. Here you have access to the easier slopes and the Borsat Express which will give you access to Grand Pré, Genepy and Borsat a selection of long, easy slopes. There is a small circuit from the top of the Borsat Express, to the Fontaine Froid lift and down Verte, Diebold or 3J which will conveniently take you to Folie Douce or Fruitiere for lunch. After lunch, head up the Tommeuses where you can ski the blue runs Creux and Edelweiss at a leisurely pace before taking Verte or the bubble back to La Daille.

| Leisurely Runs in Le Fornet |
Take the Train Rouge out of Val d’Isere centre to Le Fornet and the Le Fornet cable car followed by the Vallon de l’Iseran to the base of the glacier.
From here you have a selection of blue runs in and around the Vallon bubble and back down to resort and the pistes should be very quiet. You can stop for lunch in Le Signal or l’Edelweiss (half way down the Mangard). In the afternoon, the best snow will always be higher up so head up the Cascade chairlift where there are more easy blues. From the top of the Cema chair, off the glacier, there is a long, gentle descent down Col, Vallon and Mangard to the Le Fornet village and if you are tired, there are two options to take a cable car down on this route!

| Leisurely Runs in Le Solaise |
From Val d’Isere centre, take the Solaise Express chairlift up to the Solaise skiing area. It is a good idea for skiers of all levels to spend at least a morning warming up. Many people only ski once a year and accidents are common on the first couple of days when the muscles are unprepared!
Leisurely Skiers can cover the Madeleine area and ski the runs in and around the Glacier Express which are nice and easy blues and greens. There are then options for lunch in La Datcha, Tete de Solaise or de l'Ouillette. In the afternoon, try L and Mattis which go down to the Laisinant Express. This is an easier place to end the day as the runs back down to Solaise are fairly steep and very busy.

| Leisurely Runs in Grande Motte & The Palet / L'Aiguille |
|
To access Tignes, take the Train Rouge to La Daille followed by the La Daille bubble, then the Mont Blanc chairlift. Ski down to the Borsat Express and follow the run into Isolée down to Val Claret (the highest village of Tignes). Once in Val Claret, you can head straight up the Funiculaire or the Les Lanches and Vanoise chairlifts to the base of the Tignes glacier. From this point, there are blue options back down to the town but the blue runs on the glacier itself are only used for summer skiing. It is worth going up the Grande Motte cable car to see the stunning view, even if you decide not to ski the red run at the top. There are several lunch stops in Val Claret itself and also the Panoramic at the top of the Funiculaire. In the afternoon, take Tichot and Grattalu and ski the blue runs around these two lifts. The conditions are usually lovely here. Just make sure you check the time of the last Fresse lift to get back to Val! From the top of the Fresse, there is a long, easy run back through Bellevarde to La Daille. You also have the option to pick up the La Daille bubble. |

| Leisurely Runs in L'Aiguille Percee & The Palet / L'Aiguille |
To avoid red and black pistes, the easiest way to get to Tignes le Lac is via quite a long route from Val Claret, but it is a lovely ski and will fill the morning. Take the Train Rouge to La Daille followed by the La Daille bubble, then the Mont Blanc chairlift. Ski down to the Borsat Express and follow the run into Isolée down to Val Claret (the highest village of Tignes). Take Tichot and Grattalu back up to Col du Palet. Here, ski towards Tignes Le Lac on Lac down to the Grand Huit chairlift and perce-neige and anemone from the top down to Tignes Le Lac. There are several lunch-stops in Tignes le Lac itself. After lunch, go back into the Aiguille Percee area on the Palafour lift and there are several more blue runs around and under this lift. The Aiguille Percee lift itself goes up to the ‘Eye of the needle’ rock so is worth seeing but bear in mind that after Corniche, a blue descent, the piste back to Tignes Le Lac is red. It is however, wide and not too steep. To get back to Val d’Isere, take the Aeroski gondala back to the Toviere, and take Creux and Verte back down to La Daille.
