11th December UPDATE: We’ve had the first serious Dump Alert of the season over the last 36-hours and the resort has received at least a metre of snow. There have been road closures as the road to the Fornet was closed last night at 19:00 due to avalanche risk and the main road out of town was closed for a short time for blasting to secure the road. It has warmed up and there has been a little drizzle in the village and, fortunately, the wind last night wasn’t as violent as forecast. Time will tell this morning if the resort opens on time this morning but chances are there will be a slow and very limited opening as this snowfall has put the resort in some danger, but once it all settles this snow will significantly kick-start the season!

10 to 15 centimetres of fresh snow fell Thursday night and it’s made quite a difference. The village has taken on a fresher wintery feel and the fresh snow will help both on and off-piste.

Happy ski days!
