Local Town Hall Loses Electricity

Heavy Rain Takes Its Toll on Mairie

featured in News & reviews Author Sophie Nicholson, Val d'Isere Editor Updated

Nobody likes rain in a ski resort and particularly not when it falls in such large quantities that it brings about power cuts!

This is what happened yesterday at the Mairie - Val d'Isere's town hall - where the electricity had to be turned off due to the excessive water seepage on the exterior wall interfering with the mains.

With no heating, light or computers for the day, employees had to resort to filing instead to keep themselves occupied and no doubt they were more than happy to be able to leave work early at the end of the day.

We're hoping that the rain is behind us now and are looking forward to the return of colder temperatures and some snow at the weekend. Keep an eye on the weather forecast to find out what conditions to expect over the next few days.
