The most active speed camera in France may be affecting hundreds of skiers travelling from Geneva.

Number one speed camera in France is located on the way to Geneva airport

Statistics have been released that show the staggering amount of flashes everyday that could be catching out a huge number of holiday-makers.

The speed camera in a 90 zone on the RN205 travelling from Chamonix is catching 129 speeding drivers every day.
The camera on the RN90 from Chambery up towards the ski resorts in the Tarentaise and the 3 Valleys flashes around 70 times a day in the 90 km/h zone.
However the most active speed camera, clocking 462 flashes a day, is located just before the border control on the motorway back into Switzerland, a bit of road skiers will undoubtedly encounter when flying in or out of Geneva.

The laws in France for speeding apply to foreigners and theoretically you can receive a fine by post back home. Car hire agencies retain driver details to pass on speeding fines. For more information on the topic see this website
