Seasonaire found dead in Val d'Isere river
Body found after man was reported missing
Reported missing in the early hours this morning, a seasonaire from La Daille has been found dead in the Isere river between the Val d'Isere village and La Daille.
Friends gave the alert after he went missing on his way home at 4am
Quentin Collas was walking home from Val d'Isere when he went missing after a night out in town with two work friends. Obviously concerned by his disappearance, his colleagues alerted the local police and continued the search themselves.
His body was found in the river near the heliport in just twenty centimetres of water, but with no tracks left in the snow, it is speculated he fell in the river further up.
Police are funning a full investigation into the cause of this incident. Sadly this is not the first time someone has perished in the river, in 2009 a British girl died of hypothermia after falling into the Isere river.
Our thoughts are with his friends and family.
