A great stop off on a long hike or a beautiful refuge if you are looking to get away from the crowds for a while. there are plenty of hiking trails in the area and lots of wildlife to enjoy.

The refuge sleeps 48 people in dorm beds. There are toilet facilities available and running water in the refuge, showers are available at a small charge.

The refuge serves breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks - all home cooked using fresh local ingredients. Picnic lunches can be provided on request.

Dogs are prohibited (even on leash) along with wild fires, camping, motor vehicles, picking plants, feeding the animals, leaving the marked paths, collecting crystals or stones and tipping waste.

Bivouacking is allowed after 19h and the tent must be taken down before 8am (in July and August only).

The refuge is open but unstaffed during winter.

Worth knowing

The refuge is an excellent place for spotting local wildlife - chamois and marmots are plentiful up here.

Directions

In Val d'Isère, take the road south to parking "Le Manchet". Then take the marked path to the east (550m climb).
