An inquest has heard that a young British man had been drinking prior to losing his life in a ski accident in Val d'Isere last year.

22 year old Thomas Lynch was working as a holiday rep in La Plagne last winter season but was visiting Val d'Isere with some friends when the incident occurred. He is reported to have drunk four bottles of beer in the morning before heading off on the day trip to the nearby resort.

Thomas suffered massive internal injuries after losing control on the red run 'Solaise' and crashing into a snow cannon. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Coroner Robert Chapman recorded a verdict of accidental death at the hearing in Loughborough.
