About staying in Val d'Isere

With more accommodation than any other ski resort in the Alps, you've got plenty of choice when it comes to booking a ski holiday in Val d’Isere.

With over 150 catered chalets, more than 30 hotels and countless self catering apartments in resort, the choice of accommodation on offer in Val d’Isere is as extensive as the ski area itself!

The aim of this guide is to provide you with a little bit more information on the 8 different villages and areas that make up Val d’Isere so that you can find the right location and accommodation for your holiday.

Val d’Isere Centre - Central ski accommodation

The centre of Val d’Isere itself is the place to be if you want to be right at the heart of the action and looking for easy access to ski schools, shopping, and of course the town’s legendary bars and nightclubs. When it comes to accommodation, a lot of what is on offer is ski-in ski-out and there really is something for everyone here, ranging from luxury five star hotels to family friendly chalets and self catering apartments

Le Cret - Charming and traditional accommodation

The old village of Le Cret is by far the most attractive and traditional part of the resort with lots of architecture using wood and stone. While it may be more rustic-looking and less contemporary than other parts of the valley, Le Cret is by no means less exclusive and the accommodation generally consists of high end apartments and luxury chalets. It's also just a few minutes walk from Val d’Isere's legendary nightlife. Le Cret attracts those looking for quality accommodation in a convenient location with fantastic views over the Espace Killy.

Le Joseray, La Legettaz and Le Chatelard - Ski-in / ski-out accommodation

Situated 5 minutes south of Val d’Isere itself are the hamlets of Le Joseray, La Legettaz and Le Chatelard. Most of the accommodation here is in self catering apartments but there are also some luxury chalets in the area. While there are some shops, bars and restaurants here, the main advantage of staying in this area is its proximity to the Santons piste and ski to the door accommodation.

La Daille - Value for money ski accommodation

The first village you come to when you make your way up the valley from Bourg St Maurice to Val d'Isere, is La Daille. Situated at the base of the Bellevarde ski area, La Daille has a few bars and restaurants and a huge amount of piste-side accommodation, the majority of which is in high rise apartment residences. Just 5 minutes on the free bus from the centre of town, La Daille is a great choice if you’re looking for good value, yet convenient ski accommodation.

Le Laisinant - Modern and quiet accommodation

Situated beyond Val d’Isere is the hamlet of Le Laisinant offering yet more ski to the door accommodation. While there are very few amenities here, there are a lot of new builds meaning that Le Laisinant is an ideal place to stay if you are looking for relaxed and modern ski accommodation with convenient access to the pistes.

Le Fornet - An off piste haven

Beyond Le Laisinant and 5kms from the centre of Val d’Isere itself is the beautiful and peaceful hamlet of Le Fornet. Accommodation here is generally of a high standard and there are a collection of Savoyarde style chalets and apartments that are ideally positioned to make the most of some of the best off piste skiing in the area. Connected to the centre of town by the free bus service, Le Fornet is not far from the nightlife and is a gem of a place to return to at the end of a hard day on the pistes.
